School was a struggle for me, thanks to an ADHD brain that couldn’t sit still. So when an opportunity came to work in the mining industry—hard work, good money—I jumped in. But after years of sweating it out in the blistering heat of Western Australia’s Pilbara region, I realized this wasn’t the life I wanted, especially after meeting someone special who made leaving home even harder. 

One night, watching my partner juggle a freelance business, I had an idea. There had to be a better way to manage it all, so I created my first online venture. It was a solid product but lacked the marketing punch to take off. My partner was the first and last customer, but the dream of breaking free from the mining grind stayed alive. 

I didn’t stop there. I ventured into selling coffee accessories on Amazon FBA, which turned out to be semi-successful—I even managed to sell the brand eventually. Then, I tried my hand at drop-shipping, but that one didn’t pan out as I’d hoped and ended up costing me more than it made. But each of these experiences taught me something valuable, and I kept pushing forward.

Then, one December night, just before I was about to fly out for another 14-day stint, my child asked why I had to leave again if I promised always to be there. That hit me hard. I knew I needed a way out, not just for me, but for my family. That’s when I discovered affiliate marketing—no stock, no product creation, just partnering with brands I believed in.

Fast-forward to today, I’m a full-time affiliate marketer, earning ten times what I did in the mines. I drop the kids off at school, walk the dogs on the beach, and live life on my terms. It wasn’t easy—there were plenty of late nights and lessons learned—but I’ve built a life that aligns with my core values: honesty, family, persistence, and sharing knowledge.
